EFFECT OF ACHIEVEMENT EMOTIONS ON THE TEACHING-LEARNING PROCESS AND UNIVERSITY STUDENTS´ HEALTH

Ref. PGC2018-094672-B-I00 / UAL18-SEJ-DO31-A-FEDER

This Project of Excellence has a threefold dimension:

1) SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH:
•Integrate the variables positive and negative emotions of achievement (Pekrun, 2016) and academic engagement (Chistenson, Reschly and Wylie, 2013), in the recent Model of Competence to Learn, Study and Achievement under Stress, CLSS (de la Fuente, 2015), and the "Theory of SRL vs ERL" (de la Fuente, 2017) to know its impact on the self-regulation processes of learning and performance, as well as on the mental health of university students.
• Construct high-level inferential and structural explanatory scientific models to explain the nuclear role of the emotions of achievement and commitment in university teaching-learning processes. These models will carry with them an important element of cross-cultural comparison, in relation to other Anglo-Saxon, European and Ibero-American Universities. From this experience, an International Network on this issue will be requested. The research design will be ex-post facto. A total of 2400 university students from fouth Spanish universities, two publics and two privates (Navarra, Almería, Granada, UNI), two European universities (UK and Italy), two Latin American universities (Colombia and Argentina), will bring together national and Specialized in each one of the topics on which the project works.

2) TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT:
• To validate the transculturality of the instruments used, especially in those referred to the emotions of achievement and academic commitment, translated from Anglo-Saxon versions to the European, Spanish and Ibero-American, and vice versa.
• Develop the second version of the e-Coping of Academic Stress® (de la Fuente, 2015), integrating the new variables that allow an e-evaluation and e-intervention to improve the emotions and the academic commitment in the University teaching-learning process, which will be tested in a generalized and experimental, international level.
• Make a new European Registry and USA patent, in bilingual format, Spanish-English.

3) TRANSFER OF KNOWLEDGE AND INNOVATION:
• Transfer knowledge to international publishers (NOVA or GLOBAL, USA, FRONTIERS, Europe) in publications of articles, manuals and international chapters.
• Transfer the new version of the e-Utility, with the variables of the Academic Emotions and the Academic Commitment to interested Spanish, European and American Universities, through R & D Contracts of service provision, as well as operating contract, since The University and from the Company of Technological Base cited for its commercialization. Also to the Departments of I + D + I of the Official Associations of Psychologists interested in National and International level.
